BEGINNERS
So, you’re interested in archery?
STOP! Don’t go buying your own equipment yet!
Archery is a sport enjoyed by people of all ages & ability and you need no previous experience to take part in our beginner’s courses. We run regular courses for those new to the sport where you will be able to use the club equipment.
Courses are held on a Saturday at the Club’s grounds in Torquay
- on the field in summer and inside the hall in winter & wet weather.
Each course consists of 4x one hour sessions.
You will be instructed by a senior club member under the direction of the
club coach and will learn safety, basic archery practice, bare-bow
and free-style techniques.
The cost of the course is £30 which includes insurance and equipment hire. Should you wish to join the club after you complete the course this will be refunded in the form of a discount on club membership fees.
Once you join, you will be able to hire club equipment for a nominal fee of £1 per session as we would advise against purchasing your own equipment until your confidence with the bow has improved. This will give you a much better idea of what size and type of bow will suit you for the long term.
Courses are open to anyone over the age of 10*
